Me and my buddy we're fishing along the shore in his aluminum boat. Started out with a floating rapala and threw it next to a lily pad bed. Had a tiger musky follow it all the way up to the boat. I slowed my reeling to let him catch up and he nailed it once i did. He took off with my lure once I set the hook and he knew this wasn't an ordinary fish. He fought me for about 7 minutes, peeling line off my reel like it was nothing, took me under the boat out and around. Finally my buddy netted the thing and lure came out easily once the pressure was gone. Showing that i didnt set the hook. I didnt use a wire leader and gut lucky his daggers didn't cut the line. Tapps is a great place if you fish it right. NO picture, we're still rookies.
NOTE: Do use wire leaders when fishing. I was fishing for bass and got lucky with this one. I saw a musky the other day with a spinner in its mouth obviously snapping his opponents line. He will most likely die.
