I fished this lake all last weekend. The wind and rain was blowing but that didn't stop us from trying. For of the prettiest places on earth, Baker was not fishing well for us. I noticed a father and son duo hit their limit but only with very small trout; nothing that I would want to keep. For us, I used a bright green Rooster Tail and I could see in the clear water little trout chasing it through the shallows and I could feel nibbles as soon as the lure hit the water but no "real" bites with it. My fishing partner was using a red and black Rooster Tail and during a sun break he set into one of the largest Kookanie that I have ever seen. It must have been at least 24". I snapped a photo, my partner snapped his line and we both went home empty handed.
