I have a summer house at the lake. the lake is very beautiful and there are many fish. At my dock there are some lily pads and they are infested with little and sometimes large bass. I think that my dock is the best dock in the whole lake because I catch trout all of the time too. I go fishing for at least 5 hour a day in the summer at Cavanaugh and I have seen some crazy things. one crazy things I see is that I see 15 pound bass feasting on little schools of minnows. it is amazing I will see those fish 20-30 times a summer three years ago someone catch one of the basses and it weight more than 12 pounder so there are some large bass. but it you come to Cavanaugh for bass fishing be ware some of the home owners will get mad if they see you because the bass eat all of the small trout and the homes owners also might thing that you were some of the people who stocked the lake with bass. If you do catch one of the big bass please release it because all of us kids have giving the big ones names one is lexis and one is big momma lexis is the bigger one he is probably around 15 pounds also the trout in the lake are dieing out so release the small one and for your information the only kinds of fish in the lake are trout kokanee and bass but I have heard rumors of big lake having other species the road is called the mountain road it is the small gravel one. many people shoot their guns on the road so watch out also please help support the local fire department.
