Headed out to Shoecraft after work and it was a great day on the water. Other than constant wind it was a good day. Water temp was around 72 degrees and the fish either werent active or had already spawned and were in deeper water. Fished the banks, docks, coves, flats, drop-offs, and nothing. Saw 2 big largemouth cruising in the shallows but werent at all interested in anything to eat. Only saw 1 bed along the whole shoreline so either they havent spawned yet or nests are in deeper water.
The only fish of the day came off of a 4" Pumpkin Senko on the edge of the lily pads. Luckily I was able to horse it out from under the dock that it darted to. Landed the fish, took pic, and put the beauty back to be caught another day. The fish was very long, 20", and weighed 5+ pounds. The picture doesnt do it justice, but not bad for a cell phone camera. BTW the fish showed no signs of spawning or any marks to indicate that it has been on the bed.
Team C&R OUT!
