The wife and I made our return trip to Log Cabin Resort @ South Twin Lakes for some excellent trout fishing. We fished trolling Martin Reel Magics & Muddler Minnows the trout fishing was a little slower for most people this year but we managed to catch at least 10 fish every trip out trolling our normal spots like Split Rock and right down the middle of the lake @ 40 to 50 feet. The lake has recently been planted with Brook Trout to revive this very unique and special fishery. We lost a Brook Trout right at the edge of the boat that was every bit of 20 inches at least and definitely a trophy fish you will not find in a lot of lakes in this state. According to the tribal fisheries biologist who checked our fish the fish jumping all around the shore are Illegally introduced Golden Shiners and not bass like some people think and are really becoming a problem. We also seen many large bass being caught including some 3 and 4 pounders. Included is a photo of our last days catch including 4 rainbows that were 1-1/2 pounds and three of the small planted Brook Trout that have been recently planted.
