Wow!
I fished Wannacut for the first time this weekend with my 7 y\o son. I had wanted him to finally catch some fish so he wouldn't give up on the subject. We made our stay just down from Wannacut, (actually at the Spectacle Lake Resort) Here we met the nicest couple who also had a 7 y\o. He offered to take us up to Wannacut in the morning. We went up and fished from his 19' beautiful boat. The trick seemed to be that we were using downriggers about 7' off the bottom. We were trolling a home made version of a simple "Dick Nite" spoon. My son hooked up within 2 minutes. from then on it was mostly a fish every 10 minutes or so. These fish were between 14"-- 18" The other boy though caught the whopper of the morning. This rainbow measured 21" and must have been 4lbs these fish were fat as can be. With the big one about 5-6" from the belly to the dorsal fin.
Anyway... the trick was to troll deep. I saw just a few caught by other folks.
