Took the afternoon off and decided to go fishing with the wife and son, arrived at the Military dock around 1:00 pm, and between the 3 of us we caught 7 fish within an hour or two, all rainbows between 8-12", we missed quite a few, they seem to hit hard and fought hard. All caught using power bait and the wife's secret sauce. There were some periods of no bites but we caught our limit in 5 hours, including a nice 14" brown. We also know there is huge bass in this lake! My wife had one follow a small trout she caught and the big bass gulped it as she got the trout close to the dock, she fought the bass and my son had it in the net but it was in and out faster than he could pick it up, by then we had a crowd of people around my wife, when that happened it spooked the bass so he spit the trout out and left, they said they have never seen a bass that big before! From the crowd reaction and all of the excitment I didn't get to see it but I have a 10 1/2 pounder on my wall from my bass fishing days while stationed in Texas, my wife and son said it was bigger that that! So, all you trophy bass fisherman take note, the new state record may be in clear lake!
