As I was walking off my friends dock after I picked up my crawdad traps, I noticed a huge smallmouth bass which looked to still be on a bed (I'm sure it was still on a bed, and yes they should be off by now probably, but it was on a bed?!?). It was right under the back of their big 40 foot boat, but I still managed to see the fish and the bed it was guarding...I returned with my bass gear, and it wouldn't take a jig, then it wouldn't take a blue and black weird soft plastic worm, but then after missing a few light hits which I saw on my texas rigged soft plastic crawdad, I finally managed to set the hook in her good after she took it and after a great fight in which I had to steer her away from the dock and a big boat and anchor lines and a seadoo on a lift, I finally got it up out of the water....A guy on his bass boat was working some docks and at the time, the same dock I was fishing, but he couldn't have gotten his lure anywhere near the bed because the big boat was blocking him, and he only caught one he said, and he was right there when I caught it and he weighed it for me, and it was just a few ounces over 4 lbs...The fish still had a fat belly, and it was 3:30pm on a sunny day for time and weather...For reference in the picture, the bottle is Berkley Bass Attractant and the yellow tag is a fishing license, and its in a lanyard that keeps all my fishing license stuff...
