Arrived at St Clair around 5pm and fished till nine. The air temp was hot > 90 and the water temp was extremely warm, felt like bath water. Had no luck trolling for trout, but I caught four nice little bass all under 1 lb with the largest probably almost a pound. All were caught on purple tube bait and released. Bass were chasing my perch rapala but not hitting it, no luck on plastic worms.

The bluegill were spawning and seemed more agressive than the bass. A little bluegill chased my perch rapala off his nest and looked like he was about to swallow it, while a nice bass cruised up behind him in no hurry. Of course on the next cast I put the rapala half way up a maple tree hanging over the water, its still there for anyone up for a climb.

There were lots of boats on the water but few fishers. Mostly party barges and jetskis
