4th of July, so nobody else except 2 crazy souls, my fishing buddy Eldon and me. It was hot even at 9 am in the morning, but Eldon hooked 4 large bows right away with his damsel nymph. My fishing with olive Woolly Bugger started slow, but finished strong. Each ended up landing 5 - 7 large bows even though each hooked more than 10 in 3 hours. Who said Dry Falls flyfishing's been poor lately? Certainly, not my fishing buddy. Large bows fought extra-hard not to face the sun and gave us quite a few exciting moments. In fact, I had to use 3X tippet (instead of my normal 5X tippet) to win the battle against hard-fighting deep-water bows.
