My thoughts of introducing my daughter to my love of fishing were diminished by the trash surrounding and in this lake. We didn't expect to catch anything (although we did see a number of large trout) but instead, after the experience more than anything. That was dashed by a few things 1. just as we cast our lines and I explained to my daughter how sometimes you have to wait for a bite but you should be silent and watch for a strike, a woman throws a stick in the lake for her dog to jump in and swim out to get not 10' from where we were sitting. Couldn't believe it we were 1 of 3 people fishing the lake and this woman just had to throw the stick right there. and 2. the trash left by angelers and teenagers. Seems to me Bradley Lake has become a place for area teenagers to drink/smoke or whatever. The nonstop foul language of the teenagers was yet another discouraging issue. Great 1st time fishing trip for my daughter. Oh well what did I expect in driving past this lake over the past year I've lived nearby it, I've noticed the crowds of Goth and hoody wearing teenagers expressing themselves at the park/lake. I guess I'll have to take my daughter to the mountains to show her why I love fishing so much. Bradley Lake is turning into a place I would not recomend taking your family especially if you want to old school your children. Kind of ironic having all the "Wetland" signs around the lake with so much trash. Sooner or later I suspect this lake will be closed to fishing and the majority of the people walking the trail will be gone, there is no security that I have seen and in our walk around the lake we were hassled by a group of teens that were obviously not happy we infringed on their constitutional right to get high and party.
