This video was shot in 2006. The Hampton lakes are part of the Seeps lake area, a large group of desert lakes south of Potholes reservoir. Very desolate looking county, but a popular destination area. Be sure to bring a map to these drive-in lakes.
At one time the Hamptons were the hottest lakes in the Seep Lakes group. Traditionally the Hamptons were part of the March first opener. The State placed them on the April first opener for 2003. The largest fish have come from Upper Hampton, with the majority of the fish coming in from Lower. Upper is a walk in lake, about a half mile hike. Lower has a boat ramp suitable for shallow draft boats and a large parking lot. No camping or overnight parking is allowed. Power bait has been king on both of these lakes but I like to troll so I can release the smaller ones.
Wow! That sounds familiar, almost like something I would have written. It might be time to try the Hamptons to see how the fishing is these days. Thanks Mike!
