Re: Lowrance Depth Sounder Problem
It is blue.
We also did try the unit two times while on the lake Saturday so it should have had plenty of time to cool down (per one person's suggestion).

Lowrance Depth Sounder Problem
The winter of 2012 and this past 2013 winter we entered our garage to hear a squealing. Turns out it was the Lowrance X102 depth sounder. For some reason it had turned itself on and was just screaming and the screen was flashing like it was trying to acquire a stable picture. We unplugged its power ...

Re: Is Cut Bait Legal?
Here is the definitive answer taken from my email correspondence with WDFW: Karen, it is illegal to fish for any Game Fish in freshwater with live fish as bait in Washington State, but this does not include critters such as worms, leeches, crawfish, salamanders, crickets, grasshoppers, and other (no...

Re: Is Cut Bait Legal?
The use might be illegal. I do not have the 2014 regs book here in the house, but in all past years it reads that one cannot use a sport fish as bait. I'll try to get my hands on it when I am near the keyboard and post what it says.

Re: HELLO FROM NJ
Hello, I agree, this website is super and a wonderful resource. Mike and the Team keep it current which is a great strength. If you do head to the San Juan Islands, come see us on Orcas Island. There is decent fishing from shore and a dock at Cascade Lake for large mouth bass, trout (though more dif...

Re: Disgorger
I have found the type of hook remover you've shown, the worst of all. Too large and bulky. Here is a link for the only one I ever reply upon for 50 years. They are not real heavy duty as one can see, but for removing panfish, trout or bass hooks they are they best if not man-handled and will last fo...

[quote="drysuperfly52"]I see your from Orcas, I am going to guess you’re talking about cascade lake. fished on cascade lake last week. the bass love to look at worms and grubs thrown at them. the most productive methods I found on the lake were a jointed rapala (baby bass or silver) and I have a top...

How do you fish artificial worms for largemouths?
I grew up fishing in Indiana when "plastic worms" were just starting to be manufactured. We normally used nightcrawlers or lures, so I rarely used artificial worms 45 years ago. 29 years ago I moved to Washington State. Now, many TV shows and magazines tout using artificial worms and creature baits ...

RE:Bass fishing from shore on Orcas and San Juan Islands?--report added
Hello Fongster, As we fish Cascade almost every week, here are my recommendations. You sound like us in saying you have infinite gear. If possible, I would not pare it down alot. I think our success is two fold - worms and infinite crankbaits. If fishing from shore, then it's probably not convenient...
