Re: Fall Musky Fishing
Been fishing hard! Just not on Silver or Newman. Been on Curlew three of the last 4 weekends. Will hit Silver tomorrow! Then possibly Curlew the next. Fishing can be extremely good in the fall. But numbers generally are down while fish size goes up.

Re: tigers
Also, one more way to add evidence of reproduction, would be to find tigers in the smaller year classes (i.e., 0-2 years old) which DO NOT have coded wire tags. Every fish is implanted with coded wire tags at the hatchery, before being stocked. Tags are occasionally lost, but due to the nature of ho...

Re: tigers
While it is possible for tigers to reproduce, the chances are extremely thin. So technically it is possible, but highly unlikely. WDFW does regular surveys on these waters, and if there was any reproduction, they should pick it up. The way to prove it, would be to find young of the year. All tiger p...

Re: What didn't happen at Lake Tapps yesterday?
I have helped every year since I joined. We generally have to ask. I sent the plant dates to Chapter 57. Not sure if it got sent out to everyone individually. I got the plant dates from the hatchery staff right after they were set. The way they plant, WDFW really doesn't need any assistance, but I t...

Re: Don't let cold water scare you...there are fish to be ca
I have caught fish in cold water in March and in November. Both times water temps were in the 40's. I will say however, that the time I spend on the water those times of year are among the most enjoyable. No jet skis, no other boats, no competition.... It is cold however and time between fish is lon...

Re: Looking to go Muskie and Pike fishing in E. Wa or N. Id
Silver Lake should be getting better this coming weekend as the water temps get to 50 degrees. May seems to be the hot month for Silver. Unless you are very into it, I would suggest waiting till May to start fishing for them. If you would like to join me sometime, give me a shout. douglasjwood@gmail...

I didn't realize you were that close. Heck yea, go to the better lakes. I do the same here, and go to Curlew instead of Silver or Newman whenever I can.....

Re: New Season is Upon Us!
Hey, there are places closer than that for you down there! Granted, the fish weren't stocked for 5 years, but that means the ones that are there will be big!

New Season is Upon Us!
Well, the lakes are ice free and it's time to chase some tigers. I was on Silver last Saturday and didn't see a fish. I am assuming they are still hanging in deeper waters. Water temps were 44-48, so they need to come up a bit before they will move into the shallow areas. Weather looks promising for...
