RE:What's in a name?
Good thread. Love to learn about peoples' names.^^ As you might imagine, my handle is just my name. XD However, I usually go by Sticky or Mr. Sticky everywhere else. That started with Halo 2, when I used to be good with 'sticky grenades'. I have since stopped playing Halo, but now Sticky is my rave ...

RE:My time has come!!!!
Glad to hear you're interested in picking up the sport, but I believe that shop is closed now... At least, there was a fly shop there for quite a while that shut down last fall or spring (I forget). Maybe this is a new one, though? [-o< If not, then the closest fly shop is in Ephrata, called Desert ...

RE:Carp flies
The question that begs for a answer is; why carp when it's time to catch real fish....... If you're in Eniat, why fish for carp? @.@ NOOOO!!!! I'm in Pullman now, at University -.-' Guess I'll have to wait until Thanksgiving break to hit up my home stream... WAAHHH!!! Q.Q But ya, on a camping trip ...

Carp flies
I was looking for a reason to give this board a bump, and I have been looking for some new fly patterns to tie, and it finally hit me to combine the two! =D
So, as an uber n00b to carping, what would be some effective flies to tie for this fall?
lol thnx 'erybody.^^

Cool, thnx guys. I think I'll go with shiner, cuz I've caught squawfish (in quick succession to this fish) and whitefish, and this is something different than either of those. So happy about getting to add another fish to my 'caught' list.^^))))

Its not an exotic fish or anything, but I just moved to Pullman from Entiat and the watershed here is waaaay different, so I have no idea what I've been catching. :P You can't really see it in this pic, but its got some cool colors goin on along the lateral line. http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s...

RE:Labor Day Weekend 2009
After the first football game of the season (WSU) I'm heading down to the Snake with some of the marching band. Soo stoked. Too bad I just brought my 4wt fly rod... =/ Ah well, fishing is always nice, even if you've got the wrong gear.^^)))))

lol I've gott'a give it hands down to an Elk Hair Caddis, size 14. Usually the only thing I ever use up here in the little streams I love. Second fav goes to a Hair Wing Thorax. Looks like a caddis, spruce month and even works for mayflies! *sigh* Now I wanna go hit the water and make sure they stil...

I removed all the drug jokes, cuz this is not the 90's! Not all ravers are X-cited, lots of us live on PLURR (Peace Love Unity Respect Responsibility). Awesome! Thnx for that site, brushan! I'll have to find the "Native Trout of Western North America" book that it cites. And ya, I memorized the page in the reg book that describes the differences between brookies and bull/dollies. Glad to see that the concern is there tho ;) Man I love fishing^^))) ...

RE:ID-ing Brooks and 'Bows
Sweet, thnx. I guess I posted that a bit prematurely, since a while afterward I found about Brook Trout being from the other side of the States. But thanks non the less. I'll stop worrying about what exactly I catch and be happy with broader categories. Maybe I'll start uber-ID-ing insects instead. ...

ID-ing Brooks and 'Bows
I've been fly fishing in the Entiat watershed for a few years now, and now I'd like to get a bit more educated on the fish that I've been catching. Yes, I do know the difference between a Brook and a Rainbow trout, but I don't know the differences between the different strains of each kind of fish. ...

RE:Newbie Flyfishing
Hmm, well I think that the kind of water you're fishing is most important. I really don't know anything about lakes except to use chironomids when its cold... :P But if you fish small streams and freestone rivers then I'd have to say that an Elk Hair Caddis works pretty darn well in Summer and Fall,...

RE:Camping and Fishing
Ah man, i'm soo ready for warm weather again! I am DONE with snow! bring on the shorts and sandals. :P Usually when I go camping I head up the Entiat River, cuz thats where I live, and do some small stream fly fishing on the North Fork. But once a year I make sure to head up to Lake Curlew for a few...

Well! Thnx for all the tips and whatnot. So now I've gone out and tryed nymphing a bit, and well, I'm really gunna have to work on my patience. XD I've been spoiled by a summer of dry fishing for bows and brooks that readily take the fly on the first drift. :P The weather is good tho, and today I'll...

Strike indicators
With Dec. 1 fast approaching, I've started to get my fly gear ready for whitefish season on my home stream. I've messed around with nymphing before, but I'm determined to really get into using nymphs this winter. I read that whitefish hold in the deeper pools this time of year, so I think that dead ...
