Re: Area 9 and 8-2
We picked up two coho in an hour and a half of fishing (both caught around 5:30-ish) on the tail end of the flood on Tuesday evening south of shipwreck. Standard green flasher/hootchie/herring strip combo. Saw a few others caught - they are still there, but it sounds like they might be slowing down....

RE:Rufus Woods Question
I doubt you'll get up this far if you launch at Chief Joe, but if you do go all the way up to the Nespelem bar - about 100 yards or so downstream of the last pen the bar starts to come up, and towards the head of it you'll find water as shallow as 2-3 feet on low-flow days. Right in the middle of th...

Good point. The more I think about this "essay", the more questions I have about it... I can just imagine a teacher reading the news that 7 or so orcas have died, and the popular-but-PURE speculation that it was due to starvation... and this teacher said "that is just horrible! It must be the mean, ...

Q: "How does the commercial fishing industry affect the fish?" A: It kills them. Seriously, though, If the question is "How does commercial fishing affect the Puget Sound?" there are a million and one questions... just a few off the top of my head- 1. Which fish species are commercially fis...

This just jerks my chain to no end. I run into the same opinions about the REQUIREMENT for C&R on another site and get into some interesting debates about it, NONE of which have held enough merit any shift in my opinion of the practice - that C&R within the law is a personal choice, not an opportuni...

Get out there and catch them. They are still there, and all over. At dusk on Saturday, they were rising all around us near the net pens. Looked like a fish hatchery out there. HINT: The one I cleaned (and others I saw cleaned) were FULL of the feed that slips through the pens during feeding time...

RE:Information on Lake Rufus Woods
Actually, look for rooms in Electric City (on the north end of Banks Lake), Grand Coulee or Coulee Dam (the towns on either side of Grand Coulee Dam) if you want to launch at Seaton's Grove; not Coulee City, which is on the south end of Banks and will easily add another 30-40 mins to your drive. The...
