Is the ice off Moses Lake and Winchester Wasteway? Might take my boat out to Moses this weekend, since the weather is looking nice.
Thanks

RE:Where are the suckers?
Thanks for the info gpc. If I can get my boat in the lake, then I shouldn't have no problem fishing it since I run a fan motor to get after the carp. I usually shoot Moses, Sprague (before it was killed off), a little bit of Potholes (still have a lot of exploring to do on that lake since it is so h...

RE:Where are the suckers?
I cant really help you with suckers, or anything in your neck of the woods. But if you ever become intrested in carp in central WA I can probally name close to 100 diffrent bodies of water that contain carp. But I would think the mighty columbia would be a good place to start for rough fish, or any...

Well I hope the lady on the phone was right at the Region 2 Office in that the boat ramps on Moses Lake are froze over...cause now I am staying home for the weekend.

RE:Read this and save $517
I have fished all across the US and never came across anything like that. That seems like the worst possible idea. So you have limited time to launch before it goes up again?

Moses Lake ice conditions?
Anyone know the ice conditions on Moses Lake? Hopefully it is thawed out. Last year it was completely off when I was there March 2 and 3rd. Hoping to fish there next weekend with the boat. Temps are in the 40's during the day and near 30's at night it looks like so it should be close. Or even Silver...

I wonder how they are going to keep the carp from overpopulating again....

RE:Lake WA map?
Seems it is pretty tough to find good maps of lakes in Washington, either I can't find them on the web or they hasn't been very many lake surveys contucted to have good information.

RE:Ice off??
Last year I was on Moses Lake March 3rd and it looked like the ice had been off for awhile. And when I drove by Sprague Lake it was still froze solid. I just want to get out as soon as the ice is off.

Ice off??
Anyone know when the ice leaves lakes in Eastern Washington? Like Moses Lake, Banks Lake, Long Lake and any other carp infested lakes.
Also would the boat access' be open?

RE:Sprague Lake results
I have not found anything in Washington as far as economic value for the carp as of yet. Most of the time I try to find a local farmer or rancher to tile them in their fields for fertilizer. I am not sure if we can dispose of them by slitting the air bladder in Washington, I know it is legal in Mont...

RE:Sprague Lake results
If this affends anyone I am sorry. But Sprague Lake had a big problem. No offense taken here, Deadeye, I had just about quit going to Sprague since the fishing was so erratic. I'm curious about your setup, do you run that big fan off the generator? Do you use it for for propulsion? My setup consist...

If this affends anyone I am sorry. But Sprague Lake had a big problem. I bowfished Sprague Lake heavily during spring last year and during the fall (would have done more but I am not in this area all year). I would have really liked to talk with Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and taken t...

RE:Sprague Lake results
I figure whats done is done. The research however indicated a turbidity problem because of the big slimy buggers. Id like to hold a little carp fishing event or two behind our place on Long Lake if anyone is interested. We have a murky mess part of the year, and the less of them there are, the clea...

RE:Best lakes for carp and tench?
The only good carp or tench is a dead carp or tench. We have a winner!!!! Totally agree. If you ever want to go bowfishing let me know. I got the setup to do it effectively, and that is all I do. If you see this boat in Washington....it is me. Kinda hard to miss. I could post some nice picture http...

RE:Best lakes for carp and tench?
You guys are awesome. Wish I would have found out about this forum a lot sooner. I will be sure to post when and where I see all the walleyes come spring since I don't fish for them, but see a lot of them on Moses Lake, and Sprague. (well Sprague is done now) And they usually aren't small either. :f...

RE:Best lakes for carp and tench?
I can't believe 19 posts in a couple days. WDFW should start planting carp instead of trout. :albino: Haha....now that would be a disaster waiting to happen. Grass carp are not a really good thing to have in a lake either...even so called "sterile" fish. They said they were sterile when they were p...

RE:Best lakes for carp and tench?
Thanks for the replies everyone. I have heard there are a lot of Carp in Banks Lake. But that lake is huge, so it would take a little bit to pattern them. On the subject of Grass Carp....anyone know how big they get in Silver Lake, if supposidly they stocked over 80,000 of them, then they would have...

Best lakes for carp and tench?
I used to fish Sprague Lake a lot for carp and tench but now they have poisoned it off so I am looking for other lakes with high numbers of carp and tench, like specific lakes, and then the best places to find them in the lakes. They put up a good fight. Hoping someone won't mind giving these secret...
