Re: Meetup on the Clearwater
Gotcha. I'm a fly guy too and always looking for a new swingin' buddy. But I'm in western WA. Thought you might have been talking about the Clearwater over here on the OP.

Re: Snoho/Sky/Wallace Open for Coho!!!
Just trying to show, our little corner of the fishing community is pretty small. Not trying to stir the pot, but Mike, I must disagree. Please don't try to minimize the fact that you have created the biggest fishing hot-spotting website in the northwest. If not for the reports section, this would b...

Re: Coho Closure Protest **We Need Your Support**
Yes, you are legal as long as your hook has no point. I have confirmed this with the WDFW in order to practice spey casting in the off season. I have also been to many casting clinics that were held during river closures and in the off season. I was at Occupy Skagit this year. This has been a succes...

What a class act. Good for you, Mr. Hung. May the fish be always after your offerings.

Re: Sockeye on the Skagit: 2014
I thought the nets stayed in constantly... at least that's what I heard on the river.

Re: Gearing Up for Sockeye
I normally go to spud bar to plunk the lower skagit, but it isn't open for sockeye. Does anybody know where to go above division street that won't be elbow to elbow? I have a feeling that edgewater park and the soccer fields will be packed... Where does one go to find some space?

Re: trout leaders
I have been using Maxima Ultragreen mono exclusively for about a decade now. I won't use anything else. 4 lb on the bottom for trout. 4 lb for spinners. 6 lb main. Until the rivers open up...

Re: coal lake thaw
As of 4/21, the road was still not clear. Two miles below the trailhead was as far as we could go. Maybe a couple more weeks? Thought about trying kelcema, but I don't know if it is camper friendly so we decided to camp on the south fork sauk instead, at the mouth of elliot creek. My girlfriend and ...

Re: coal lake thaw
Nothing, eh? I really didn't want to make the trip if it would be for no reasoon. I guess we could drive up and check it out and stay at another place if its still snowed in. I just figured that somebody would know. This lake is full of EBT, so many that none of them can grow any bigger than 10 inch...

coal lake thaw
Has anybody gone up this early in the season? My girlfriend and I really love to go to coal lake and eat those tasty little Brook Trout, and we wanna go camping next week, Monday thru Thursday. The problem is, I don't know if it is going to be thawed out yet. Does anybody know when it usually thaws?...

Re: Sickening salmon snagging video
That kid's dad is selling them for cat food so it isn't wasteful? B.S. Maybe it wouldn't be wasteful if the kid was using them to feed his poor family (if they are even poor). Those fish are being poached. Cat food? Seriously? As in, selling them to a cat food company? Or selling them to people that...
