best place to shore fish in the south sound/tacoma area?

Been a while since I have posted but I currently find myself with a good setup for shore fishing for salmon or whatever else bites. I am just not familiar with good places to go that I can cast and hope to hook into something, or at least not have a bad day of it. I live in puyallup so anything in t...

RE:Night fishing

I am not sure about float tubes but I know from rowing in crew during college that for any vessel on the water between dusk and dawn (1/2 hour before sunset and 1/2 hour after sunrise is what I use to distinguish this for safety though I know it is not the "legal" definition) you need to have a mini...

RE:A good home is needed!!!

Glad that you found a home. I would have risked my fiance (soon to be wifes) wrath and taken her if you hadn't. No need for a great cat to get dropped at the pound. not only that but if you know who she goes to, there is always a chance that you can visit when you are back in the area, right?

RE:A good home is needed!!!

does she get along well with other animals? Is she inside only or inside/outside? all shots and clean vet bill of health? Let me know, I can try and convince the fiance but it would be a hard sell.

RE:WL.com Extravaganza - Pics Are Here!

Just an FYI, I will not be eating a burger or hotdog (I am a piscitarian (woot for new new words in the dictionary)) but I may bring a salmon patty of some sort to throw on for me (and possibly for my Fiance). Also though I want to get there Early it looks like I wont arrive till later in the mornin...

RE:WL.com Extravaganza - Pics Are Here!

I will try and get there early to help in anyway needed as well. If you need it Fishin I may be able to get a 10 foot square stand alone shade tent to set up and possible a picnic table but it depends on what can be fit into the car. Anyway I am looking forward to coming and relaxing, maybe getting ...

RE:Happy Fourth of July!

Just got back a little bit ago from a roughly 18 mile round trip backpacking adventure. I was originally going up to Samish Island but that fell through when we could not bring our dog with us (and can't leave the dog alone on the fourth...that is like asking for her to have a heart attack). Anyway ...

RE:BYE BYE SONICS

From what the news said this morning it sounds like they paid us 45 million immidiately to be able to get out of the lease. In addition the Sonics name, colors and logo stays in Seattle (so we wont see the Oklahoma City Sonics) and if in 5 years Seattle has not gotten another NBA team here to play a...

Samish Island???

Hey Guys, I am not sure what area Samish Island is in but it is up north of Anacortes a little bit. Anyway I am going to be up there this weekend doing some fishing and there is a good chance that I will be able to fish from my friends Boat (he has a really nicely equipped Alumaweld 20' with good do...

Just found out some friends invited us to a big family/friends get together on Samish Island up north. spend the day fishing and some people will drop crab pots, then spend the evening relaxing and cooking what we caught. Should be a great time!

RE:The Fourth Of July

I love the fourth, I think I am going to spend that weekend either backpacking through the north cascades or Olympics or sitting at the edge of a lake/on the lake fishing without catching anything. I might go to my work for the night of the fourth (it overlooks gas works park and there is no better ...

RE:4 dollars a gallon...

actually...they have a lot of multi-purpose Bike Trailers out right now so I think if you looked around you could find one to fit your canoe. I have talked to someone who uses a bike trailer for their Kayak so there you go. Pontoons might be a little harder to fit on there but I am sure you could fi...

RE:WL.com Extravaganza - Pics Are Here!

I am hoping to come though it is a bit tenuous right now. There is another BBQ that I have scheduled for that day but I think it might be later on. For right now I will say I am coming though (yay!) and if someone has a spot for me in the morning on their handy craft I would be more than happy to co...

RE:Good Fishing Near Seattle

lots of stuff near or around seattle. Lake Boren near Renton is decent if you find the right spot to cast from (for the view at least). Pine Lake and Beaver lake both have good shore access and/or docks (both in the Sammamish area). There is lake Sammamish also but I don't know of a good dock there....

mating or denning, with this less than warm spring we have had so far it is completely possible that they have not moved out of their lazy winter/hibernation mode (though if i remember right they don't actually hibernate). I would not be to concerned about them myself but I would also have been tryi...

RE:Lake Roosevelt

Thanks for the good info everyone! Is the entire lake fairly similar in habitat and species available? I have only been to the area I am going to this time once and to the Dam once but I have never fished the lake so am uncertain if where I am at along its length makes a difference. I will be sure t...

Lake Roosevelt

Hey everyone! So I am going to be spending a weekend on lake Roosevelt near Lincoln washington around July 11th. Most of this time will be spent either on the beach or on a skii boat (or on my little raft near the beach) My question is has anyone fished this area? are there any target species I can ...

RE:$5/gal gas vs $24+/gal lattes

I used to go to starbucks occasionally (maybe 1 every two weeks) because it was the only place in walking distance for coffee and I have never cared to drive for something like that. I noticed at a Tully's about 10 months ago or so that all of their coffee is Organically grown and fair trade. That r...
