Re: Green Lake trout

I like this time of year at Green lake as you can catch some bigger fish. I was out about a week ago and catch 3 beautiful 16"+ fat rainbows. Its also the time of year you might latch on to a nice big brown trout. This time of year I have the most success fishing in the deeper areas in my kayak. Tak...

Re: Carp on the west side?

Lots of big carp in green lake. It's actually pretty impressive to paddle around them on a calm morning when they are swirling around on the surface. Literally hundreds of them. Never really tried to fish for them though.

Re: Mounting a fish finder on inflatable

BentRod, that's what I was starting to think too. It wouldn't be to difficult to rig up so I could easily switch it between the sea eagle and my kayak. I have a small scooter battery to use in the kayak

Mounting a fish finder on inflatable

I'm looking to mount a fish finder on my inflatable boat. Its a Sea Eagle. The easiest solution seems to be to mount the transducer onto the electric trolling motor. I've read a few web pages that say to mount somewhere there is no turbulence and not near the motor. I guess I'm looking for advice. W...

Re: Lake union on Eastlake side

I've fished lake Union a bit. The canal down in Eastlake isn't too bad. I also go out in my kayak and have had decent luck around gasworks park. Mostly the fish are on the smaller side. I mainly use small spinners or rapala's. As mentioned it is closed right now but supposedly it will open soon.

Re: Sea Eagle 285fpb

I picked up one earlier this year. Got the white and blue model with the swivel seat and motor mount. I use it with a 30lb thrust electric motor. Mostly I enjoy it. It is very stable and pretty comfortable. It also is very rugged. I also got the cart/wheels to haul it and they work great. It fits ea...

Re: Home brewers out there??

Been brewing for over 20 years. Won some contests and run 8 beers on tap at home. I assume your giving it a try from a kit at first? I believe I live near by if you have any questions.

Re: Mitchell 300 (old school version)

One of the first things I ever saved money to buy was a 300. Think it was about $30 in maybe 1977? Loved it and everyone was using them back then. Found a 308 a couple years ago on closeout when they closed K-mart and spent another $30 to give it a shot. Pretty happy with it and it came with an extr...

I've been out every day at tide change. Nothing to show for it. Have seen an occasional jumper but the pinks aren't in yet in any numbers. Quadfather got everyone a little excited too early

Re: trolling motors and batteries

Good info! Thanks for the replies. One more question. Currently I have the battery sitting behind the seat which makes the Stern ride a little low. I was thinking of stashing the battery up front and even ran some wires to do it but I am having second thoughts. I am concerned that there isn't enough...

trolling motors and batteries

So I was given an old motor this spring and rigged up my kayak with it. Has been a blast cruising around for planter trout in the local lakes. This thing is really old like at least 30 years and I bought the cheapest deep cycle battery I could find locally to test it out. My question is how much hav...

Rod suggestions?

Got back into fishing last year. Picked up a couple cheap Big 5 combo's at first and realized what a piece of crap they are but they worked to get me back into it. Fished a bunch as a kid back in NH mostly small streams for trout and on the Connecticut river for bass and perch. Picked up a Garcia Mi...
