RE:Any one wanna hit kayak point?
Try catching them on trout gear. What a kick in the pants. We used to use pileing worms to catch them. Not sure if thats what they are actually called. Used to cast out, let it sink to the bottom and slowly reel them back in. Deep fried with some chips...delicious!

RE:Oddity at Kayak Point
I've seen sturgeon jump a couple of times when I've gone out to check my crabpots. Running over to the Camano side in shallow water had one almost clear the water. That one was at least a 5 footer. Never targeted them in the salt but would love to give it a try. Buddy in high school had a commercial...

RE:Anyone ever fish this little lake?
Hey Cobrar, like Wolverine said the North lake is juvenile only with the southern lake open to everyone. No launch of course but you can hand launch/drag a canoe or car topper. I see quite a few guys out in float tubes and pontoons in the spring time. They even have RC Hydroplane races out there at ...

Sounds like you were fishing the Blue Stilly Park area at Island Crossing. Good luck down there. When the Humpies are in the area is very popular.

They have caught stripped bass off Westport and Illwaco (mouth of the Columbia) too. I need to get one of those so I can check it off my "Fish I've caught" list!! OK and ANYTHING else that was talked about on this thread.

RE:Why can't you keep SRCs?
For some reason they are considered threatened. I can't keep the dollies off the line fishing shallow around Camano Island either...same reason, threatened. I guess the numbers are down in some regions enough to cause the game dept to close it statewide.

Flies for ultra clear water
OK I had pretty good luck on Kellog the other day with an olive wooley bugger in ultra clear water. What other flies would you suggest for water like that. I was catching cutthroat by the way.

RE:Found my house!
Yea it is a pier that they fish off of. LANDING a salmon is a chore, you either have to walk to fish all the way to the shore along the pier or drop a crab ring (that is just a circular net on a ring that you drop vertically to catch crab) and slide the fish into it. If you go south on the beach the...

Hey cobrar543 the silvers are in now. You can catch them off the beach at Kayak point park on the mainland side. Buzz bombs, crockodiles, herring...just remember that it is SINGLE BARBLESS for everything in the salt.

I agree, stay away during the weekends! It is NUTS to say the least. Keep your eyes and ears open for the snaggers, you can't miss the sound of them "setting the hook".

My kid and I got pulled over on I-5 (headlight was out), he was driving with his permit and was scared spitless! I just told him to be calm, polite and give the officer honest answers. We were polite...he was polite, end of story. I don't get folks that have to give the law enforcement people attitu...

Lake Lenore/Alkaline lakes
I don't know much about alkaline lakes but what would the water do to the aluminum frame of a pontoon boat or aluminum oar shafts. Any special care required with your gear after fishing the lake besides just washing your stuff down with clean fresh water? (Maybe we need a topic called "Stupid Questi...

Generally it is nice weather BUT we were over there this past week expecting 90 to 100 degree weather but it only got to 75 degrees. Weird weather this year. Early fall fishing can be great with the fish trying to fatten up for the winter.

I would fish it early in the morning before the sun hit the water for long or hit it later in the evening. Try topwater baits in the morning if you want to have fun!

RE:Banks lake camping
I'm going there the week of the 25th but I'm camping at Steamboat Rock. I've seen a few places that people have boatcamped around the "Devils Lake" bay and also west of Barker Canyon. Bought the best topo map of Banks at Big Wallys in Coulee City. Might be helpfull for finding other boat camping spo...
