Suggestions for mid-Sept fly fishing in Puget Sound
I'm planning a fishing trip in September to the Sound. I used to live in Renton but moved to TX. I try to make a trip back every year to salmon fish but usually gear. This time I'd like to add a couple of fly fishing outings. When I lived in WA I didn’t do much fly fishing, but now I almost exclusiv...

Is September a good time for Humptulips Kings?
Hi, I sadly left Washington 4 years ago. Planning a week long fishing trip in September. I'm thinking of fishing the Humptulips for Kings. Will be in WA Sept 14-20. I know there are a lot of factors in determining whether or not the fishing will be good, but in general is mid-September a productive ...

Oregon Fly Fishing Guide
Can anyone suggest a great steelhead flyfishing guide in Oregon, or an online resource I can use to find one(like an Oregon-specific Northwestfishingreports.com)? I'll be in Portland the second week of August.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Fishing After the Storm
I have a guided trip planned on the Columbia near Woodland Friday. I asked the guide whether or not they would cancel the trip. They're fishing today, and the weather looks to be better Friday (less rain and wind than forecasted for Thurs). Said they'd confirm with me after their trips are done toda...

Visiting Seattle 10/14 - Where should I fish?!
I moved from Seattle 2 years ago and am finally heading back for a few days. Traveling on business but will have Friday 10/14 free. Hoping to have one good day on the river, but not sure which river. Can anyone suggest the best place for guided coho trip? Humptulips? Snohomish? Cowlitz? I'm also ope...

Re: What happened to Chum in the fishin reports
That indeed is the million dollar question! Now, to beat a dead horse. This is what I'm seeing and Chum is not included in the species drop down.

They're not there either. It's been a coupl of years since I visited the site, moved out of Seattle in 2014. But I recall chum being a species in the drop down in the reports.

What happened to Chum in the fishin reports
Is it just me or was 'chum' removed as a species choice in the fishing reports?

Re: Nisqually River Access
In case anyone's reading, went down to the Nisqually only to find that the Riverbend Campsite was closed to the tribe. This was a Thurs afternoon. Also, saw signs at the Pacific Hwy bridge that said the river access area was part of JBLM and anyone caught would be arrested.

Re: Nisqually River Access
So I think I've found a couple of places to try out. Next question - anyone know where the Nisqually tribal netting schedule is posted or if there's a hotline? Read somewhere that they net Sun-Wed. Is that still the case?

Nisqually River Access
Can anyone provide information on places to access the Nisqually River? I've never fished the Nisqually but would like to give it a shot soon, especially if the chum are still running there. I'm not asking anyone to reveal your secret honeyholes, just info on public access spots for bank fishing. Th...

Was going to suggest the Green but at 8,000 cfs and 29 gauge ft it's probably wise to
avoid it.

Re: Chum dog snapped my Lamiglas!
The fish was brought in head first. Not everyone who fishes Whatcom Creek is intentionally snagging. I for one definitely was not.

Chum dog snapped my Lamiglas!
First of all, let me just say that fishing for chum at Whatcom Creek is pretty damn fun! Yeah, yeah, it's flossing. Not to go down that rat hole - I'll just say it's a good time that every fisherman should try once! So, after hooking on to half a dozen fish and loosing them to a snapped line or a sh...

No worries, Gringo! Was just curious why you posted that. Unfortunate that there are people who have to be reminded about these things. :(

Re: Chromers at the hatchery
What's your point, Gringo? I was merely pointing out the fact that there are a lot of chrome fish in the hatchery and wondering if this is a good indication that the run is indeed late and that we can expect more coho in the rivers.
