Re: What brand of smoker/BBQ you got?

Are you getting much smoke flavor from your rectec pellet smoker? My sister bought one last year, and we just cant seem to get as much smoke as I would like. The easy start up and acurate temp control was awsome though. I use an offset bbq/smoker. I use this style because I'm stuborn as a mule, and ...

Only winter fished Chelan a couple times..... The launch at 200 Mill Rd, Manson, WA 98831 was great. Even with fresh snow overnight, the launch was always cleared and sanded for us first thing in the morning.

Re: Who Wants To Test My Imported LiFePO4 Batteries....

Hi...i have taken the step to test it. I had the voltmeter and amp meter hooked up for the run. Amps were right at 60 the whole time. Volts dropped to 12.78V initially when I first turned the motor on, but only fell to 12.77 by the end of the run. No noticeable loss in power at all, but relatively ...

This is a much longer interview with the wdfw director. As annoyed as I am at the wdfw sometimes, I have a hard time condemning the decision that they made.

More power to ya, I dont like it either..... but.... enough people were not paying enough attention to warnings and advisories that I dont think they had any choice but to take drastic action for some "slower" people to wake up! Now that we all understand how serious this is, I think you're right. I...

Re: WDFW closes sportfishing statewide

I think that the travel aspect is the biggest issue behind the complete ban. Ive seen a few solo fisherman in local ponds. Although it kinda frustrates me, It would be a shame to punish these harmless, discrete rule breakers.

Signs of the season

What are your favorite seasonal fish activity indicators? Seems like I've heard a million of them over the years. ie: "when the cherry blossoms bloom, bass are on their beds" I'm sure that these rules of thumb vary by region, waterbody and species, so I'm curious what my fellow NW fisherman use. For...

Re: 7' Livingston boat

Nothing exact here, but I know i've had one (7 or 8 foot livingston) in the back of my full size truck, and it easily fit between my 48 inch wide wheel wells. The bottom of the hull was likely 45" wide.

Re: Underwater Camera

Some of the wireless underwater cameras are actually connected by a cable to an above water spool/reel, and wirelessly "real time" viewable by a wifi device, tablet or phone. Didn't really seem that cool until until I realized that wireless function solves the cable twist problem when lifting or low...

Re: Lake Meridian kokanee disappearance

It's amazing that wdfw still stocks so many kokanee fry in both Meridian and Sawyer. Its been around 5 years since Ive seen a kokanee in Meridian, and more like 10 years for Sawyer. I can't imagine why they continue... Its been suggested by some that the kokanee are stocked to feed the bass! I'm gla...

Re: Lake Meridian kokanee disappearance

Trolling for trout on Meridian can be ok near the surface this time of year. Stocked rainbows and native cutthroat. (Triploid rainbows are not being stocked in our region anymore though) I haven't seen any Kokanee out there in a few years, especially not this early in the year. Kokanee fry are still...

Re: Lake Meridian kokanee disappearance

Well Mr. Amx, me thinks your right, you prob caught some rainbows and or cutts. Small cutthroat are very similar looking to Kokes. Very shiny.... but usually oddly green in these western washington lakes. Ive noticed the young cutts seem to form schools just like kokanee used to.... just a little de...

Re: Downrigger and Line/Lure Depth

I use to fish Meridian and Sawyer for Kokanee. Then they all disappeared. Haven't seen a koke in Sawyer since 2008 and Meridian 2015. Meridian was hot in 2014 then not in 2015-2016. Dont know where they went, but wdfw still stocks both the same as they used to.
