Is that time of year again. Going to plan a couple early trips to Duck lake in Ocean shores and see if my kids and I can't find a few crappie and perch along with a few trout.
Anyone have any reports of fishing heating up yet with this warmer winter?

RE:SCENT do they actually work?
Scent has played a huge role for me in the past 3-4 years. Sometimes very positive, sometimes REALY negative. I was out 2 years ago using eggs and shrimp for Coho in the Hump with no success with others using eggs and hooking fish after fish. I didn't know what was wrong until I switched to another ...

RE:Perch
I used to fish Black Lake a lot when lived there and it has some really nice perch in it. Fished a private dock on the North end, I think, and used to catch 8-14 inchers often enough to make it worth while. There are a lot of them in deeper water toward the East end of the Lake by the small bridge o...

RE:New Crayfish rules
It is amazing how few people know there is a size limit or a season on them. I hope to go out this year and get a 5 gallon bucket full this year and have a huge crawdad, crab and fish boil and bake.

Is duck Luck heating up yet?
My b-day is coming up and I want to hit a lake and catch a bunch of fish. I am hoping to make it to Duck Lake but I don't want to go if the fish are not biting. I want to catch crappie, gills and perch with trout and catfish being a bonus. Anyone doing any good out there or am I destined to fish for...

RE:Unconventional tying materials
Oh where to start: Dog hair, cat hair, mylar wrapping paper, foil candy wrappers, rubber bands, bungee cords for leg material, fish fins for wings, party wigs for everything, dryer lint for dubbing, curly straws for tubing, scrap leather and scrap canvas for claws and tails on craws, hot glue for bo...

RE:two poles!!!!
$25 for a second pole was not what I pushed so hard to get. I guess I should be more specific when writing them and have said a FREE second pole. I will never be able to afford the endorsement, not sure I would buy it anyway if I could, but I hope a lot of people do because of the massive cuts comin...

RE:New to Washington, need someone who fly fishes to show me the right rivers.
The Puyallup river will be getting hot for winter runs here pretty soon if they are not in there already. The green river is also a good bet. Pretty much every river in the area will be getting good right about now for steelhead. Green but skunks, popsicles, redbutt skunks, orange butt skunks, Clous...

Well here are a few...........
I just wanted to try and get this forum rocking a little with some pictures of flies and jigs I have tied. All of these are hand tied by myself as well painted. I think this could be a great section so let's get some more pictures on here If you want to know about any of them specifically let me kno...

RE:westport jetty
I know a couple friends of mine have been killing them every time they go out there. Small white jigs or black jigs fish parallel to the jetty have been killer according to them. I know they went out 2 days ago so I will have to find out how they did. What time did you go? The best time to get good ...

RE:the fresh-water lobsterette - crawfish lakes *UPDATE*
I have yet to find a lake, river, stream, pond, canal, ditch or anything else that has moving that doesn't have them. My best bait, trout guts and heads, fresxh or freshly frozen. Not spoiled or rotten. Chicken works okay with liver coming in second to fish parts. Oh and BTW, from what I have found ...

Jig tying forum
I don't know about everyone else but I fish jigs just as much if not a lot more than I do flies. Would it be good to add a jig tying forum or maybe add Jig Tying to the fly tying section?

Craft or flavorite miniature marshmallow and a 1.5-2 inch piece of crawler. 24-36 inch leader with a 1/4 ounce egg sinker rigged slip style. Thread the marshmallow on the hook and pull it onto the line, thread the piece of crawler onto the hook keeping it as straight as possible, straight is importa...

RE:Could someone tell me about trolling a fly?
Around here all it takes is a size 8-10 whooly bugger and you are off into fish. It helps to have some chop on the water but isn't really "needed". I troll them in my float tube as slow as I can and I run a LOT of line out behind me. I have actually had a good 100 feet out behind me when it is sunny...

Where to bank fish Duck Lake
I am hoping to go tomorrow. I am fishing the bank. I know of North Park, Chinook Park and the big bridge but where else can you get close to good spots that you can cast to deeper water and at least have a chance?

Anything new on the lake? Still haven't went out because I am stuck to bank fishing. I see that we are supposed to get cold again so I am thinking it will be July before it gets hot but I want to hit soon. Will be all bank fishing for me unless I find someone I can hitch a ride with. Gonna try North...

RE:News story for salmon fishermen in Washington State....
The Skagit is supposed to be hot for them as well as Point Defiance right down from the aquarium if I remember right. They are supposed to stack up there in huge numbers. According to a buddy of mine that fishes up there anyway. Anything pink is supposed to slay them and smaller seems to be better.

I am chomping at the bit to go get a ling this year. Weather might actually cooperate finally so I can get out on the big rocks and catch a monster or two.
