Large Kastmaster's are great but I'd recommend Les Davis Herring Dodgers for the Sound. The barbs on any lure or hooks must be pinched off. if a lure like a kastmaster comes with a treble hook, do we have to replace it with a single hook with the barb pinched off to be able to use it? and does that apply to every treble hook?

Sorry for not being specific. I'm currently in Marysville. And I dont own a boat so mostly shore fishing. I prefer saltwater fishing but I'm totally open to fresh water as well. I'm new to fishing in Washington and conning from Hawaii I have no idea what to fish during the winter times. Could some of you experienced anglers share some wisdom on what kind of fishing to do from now til spring time?

Are you able to fish for catfish from the pier in kayak point? And if so what is the best set up? I'm new to the northwest and in meed of much of your wisdom!
