Catch enough to offer the potential complainers some of your smoked fish.

OK curado this is in no way a shot at you. I am just confused, probably due to my ignorance of the fishing methods in the PNW, as to how this could happen. Where were you in relation to the fish? Does this style of fishing (I assume salmon) dictate you move around alot? Like I said, please forgive m...

West Point on the Georgia / Alabama border. White bass, Striped bass, Hybrid stripers, LM bass, and great Crappie fishing as well. Also some big cats if that's your fancy. Used to spend a week every summer there and chase the Hybrids. Catch a school of Hybrids busting into a school of threadfin shad...

I have absolutely nothing to contribute to your plight, however I can tell you that, as a noobie to this sight myself you are in great hands. The people here are very knowlegeable and willing to help. You will soon get the help you need. Good luck.

Hey loucipher I'll contribute before these guys beat you into submission. I don't keep alot of bass but if I'm catching dink after dink I might keep a couple, especially for the wife. She seems to like them better than the Crappie or Perch. I'm the other way around, but there's no denying, small bas...

RE:Spincast ?
My first reel was a 33, and I don't believe I've ever been without one. I ususlly have it in the boat, but use it rarely. What I do normally is rig it with some sort of minnow imitation, and keep it handy to cast to the occasional rising fish. 9 out of 10 nothing happens, but when a fish jumps and y...

Spinnerbait, crankbait, spooks, plastics, in that order. To me, the first three are pure fun. Plastics, especially Texas rigged and jigs, are the workhorses. It takes more concentration to do it right, and the areas they are traditionally fished in take more skill and sometimes finesse. It's also a ...

RE:Carolina rigging questions
One thing I like to do on C-rigs is take a foam earplug and soak it in a scent and insert it into a tube bait. This gives the tube more bouyancy and of course flavor. Also it gives u a cavity to inject scent into after several casts. This is deadly on a slow retrieve in deeper water for summer time...

McCormick, Lawrey's, and Johnny's, in that order of preferrence. Johnny's to me is a little on the bitter side for some reason, but the wife doesn't seem to notice. Just goes to show how different peoples' tastes are. Garlic is a must have in our home. Now that the WinCos have opened here in Spokane...

Yep 2 or 3 ft. leader works well for me. You sometimes may not feel the pick-up, just suddenly get a "spongey" feeling. Set the hook hard, more often than not the sponginess is a fish.

I take them to the dumpster at my work. If I was going catfishing in the near future I'd take them along.

I think you are going to like braid. One last thing... It will eventually lose its color. That is a fact. It will turn white over time, but the change in color will NOT affect performance or integrity. It bothers some people but not me. You're in for a treat when you feel the feedback braid gives y...

I love high tech, and one day I'll get in the loop with some newer baitcasters. Right now all my stuff is old school, and still serves me pretty well. Not being a purist / cork sniffer, just getting back into the fishing thing after a lengthy lay-off. I still use a 5000 (the old red ones) that my Da...

RE:Artificial structure question. Is putting this in lakes in WA state legal?
To me it's more of what was not said than what was. They say they are not aware of any regulation to allow it, but yet seem careful enough NOT to say they are not aware of any regulation that would dis-allow it either. What I got out of your response is that while it's not illegal, this particular o...

RE:Artificial structure question. Is putting this in lakes in WA state legal?
This is not gonna help answer your question, but my .02 anyway. In the south we would gather up several christmas trees, tie them together, and take them out with a couple cinder blocks and dump them in a spot easy to find later. Didn't have GPS back then, so we would try to find a spot easy to tria...
