RE:Lake Cushman
the visibility is far beyond 30 feet. Using diving gear in what looked like 20 foot water, soon came to the realization that we were not going to reach the crystal clear bottom "inches" in front of us.... very, very clear.... unbelievably clear. Probably 70 foot plus in summer. But on the other note...

Check out the WDFW 2007 Fishing Prospects compendium. You can pick it up at some locations, or just download it from their website - you can also download their warmwater fisheries of 2007 pamphlet too. Both combined give a wealth of information on the possibilities of most waters. Not 100% all enco...

Rock bass in rivers?
I know they are in rivers in warmer climates, but I woulda thought our rivers too cold!
Which rivers are they in? I can only imagine they would taste even better than those from a lake - fish always taste better from a river.
Let me know please!
Thanks!

RE:Catfish
This may sound strange, but your best bet for big cats, is probably in the bigger lakes that you have not heard of being "cat-fisheries". the biggest cats I have seen on the westside have been from lakes that I have never heard catfish coming from. I could give you more info, but I only know the wes...

The deep dark secret of Rock bass....
I am almost ashamed to admit it - but not really, that I am a huge fan of rock bass. They look like (and fight like) some wierd frankenstein monster cross between a largemouth bass and a crappie. And honestly, if you were to cross the flavor of Crappie and Largemouth, that's pretty much what you get...

RE:Bluegill Perch Cooking?
I fillet them, cutting the fillet off the body stopping just short of removing it from the tail, flipping the fillet over the tail and sliding the blade under the fillet and above the skin. Some snoqualmie pancake mix (dry), a good portion of fresh ground garlic salt, seasoned pepper, and a touch of...

RE:Earning money for Norther Pikeminnow
The joy of squawfish is you don't need to be deep, or out in the middle of the channel, or really try too hard. Just find a nice slack area of the current and stick something mildly stinky or sparkly on the hook and wait a few seconds. You thought Sculpins and bullheads were bad on the Columbia - ? ...

Gills and perch in the offseason
Now I realize this is a little late, as they are moving to spawn and the action is heating up. From November to March, where the heck do Western Wa gills and perch go? Other states ice-fish for them, or simply find other ways to target them - but in western WA they vanish. I have tried finding info ...
