RE:Whats everybodys favorite campsites in thurston? And lewis
I split my time between Taidnapam and Leonard “Bud” Allen Park/Cowlitz Falls Campground depending on availability. Cowlitz Falls is a real sleeper. It's a county park and doesn't take on-line reservations (reservations must be done in person or through the mail), so you can usually find a site at th...

Direct TV stops carrying Versus channel
Apparently there's some sort of dispute over compensation. Versus is owned by Comcast, a Direct TV competitor. I'm not sure who the bad guy is in this, but the loss of VS has cut me off from my weekend TV fishing fix. Other than the occasional ESPN coverage of FLW and BASS events, who else provides ...

RE:What do you get out of your bass club?
I've pretty much made the decision to join a club. I've got all the "stuff," but need some assistance in putting my stuff on the fish. So, my primary reason for joining a club is to expand my knowledge of bass fishing. A close second would be networking with likeminded (obsessed) individuals... Like...

RE:Labor Day Weekend 2009
Dave/Bisk1ts I guess I am lucky. I'm shore bound out there so we go out there mostly to relax. I took a 9ft Uglystick on our last trip out there and tried a little surf fishing for perch. I had no idea what I was doing and caught nothing. No worries, as long as I get to wet my line. I'm a bit better...

RE:Best Pierce County evening bite?
Well I made it out to Tanawax last night. Only had about 1.5 hours to fish before darkness closed in. I picked up the nicest LMB I've caught in a long while on a Senko - wife caught a fish too. I think if you have limited time, this lake presents itself as a better option for getting on and off the ...

RE:Smallies in Tanwax...what the ....?
Hey Kevin What time were you out there? My wife and I were on the lake from about 1830-2000. I picked up a nice LMB over by that paddle-wheel boat on the NW bank. This was my first time on Tanwax. Nice Lake - not as overwhelming as Kapowsin. Might end up being my lake of choice if I have less than t...

RE:Best Pierce County evening bite?
If the weather holds out, I'll try to knock out a an evening trip to both Tanawax and Ohop before the long weekend - Tanawax is even closer to home than Kapowsin. Where's the public launch on Tanawax? I'm only familiar with the one at the resort. Bait and presentation recommendations for either of t...

I’ve always had good luck with firetiger or perch crankbaits – a close second would be crawfish. For plastics, I’d say green pumpkins or watermelon. Chartreuse n white for spinner and buzzbaits. - Brian

RE:Best Pierce County evening bite?
Wow, this thread is quickly becoming a Kapowsin thread. Looks like there might be enough interest to start a dedicated Kapowsin thread to discuss this lake in a little more detail. Anyway, I spent the morning out there. Fared a little better this time: five small ones and one nice one. I'll post a r...

RE:Best Pierce County evening bite?
Just a quick update. My wife and I hit Kapowsin these past two evenings. I posted a report so I won't go into the details here. Over all the fishing was a bit slow - but we did catch fish. I'm sure the key is knowing where, and what, to fish. I agree, this lake looks like it has some potential. And,...

RE:Best Pierce County evening bite?
Thanks for good info. I'm going to try and hit Kapowsin sometime this week - hopefully Wednesday. I took a ride out to Tanawax this past Saturday. Seemed like there were a lot of skier/wakeboats on the water - one of the reasons I avoid Lake Spanaway on a nice day.
See you on the water, Brian

Best Pierce County evening bite?
Hey All
Which eastern Pierce County lake would you recommend for evening fishing (LMB or SMB) ? I'm in the Spanaway/Elk Plain area and would like to get some after work fishing in while we still have some Summer left. What about Kapowsin?
Thanks, brian
