How do you pack your gear around?
For this year's Christmas list I was thinking of putting a fishing vest on it so that I can use it when I go fishing. I have a friend who uses a fishing vest and he usually puts what he needs in it when he goes fishing. I had one of those hip packs that I got when Joes went out of business. That thi...

It's fine for them to target the pink, but no doubt they are catching more than just pink with those nets.oneshot wrote:That's still a lot of time at the PEAK of the migration home..
wonder how many thousands will not enter the snoho now..

Re: Commercial fishing off Everett?
On Saturday my friend was fishing out on Humpy Hollow and there were 3 netters out there right in the middle of all of the sport fishermen. Today, I took the ferry out of Edmonds. On the way out I counted 5 netters. On the way back I counted 4 (don't know if they were the same or new boats). Based o...

Re: Oneshot helped saving mans life.
Here's the news article from Komo : Eventually, fire crews arrived and took the man out of the lake. The man was later able to thank Pulling for the rescue. "He shook my hand very sincerely and didn't really want to let go, and just thanked me for helping him out," Pulling said. Looks like Oneshot g...

Freedom Adaptive Systems
Hey guys, I wanted to highlight one of my friends inventions. It's a harness system that allows people with physical challenges to over some those challenges to fish. He's a local fisherman who needed something to help him fish and figured out a way to get the fishing done. He's had some really good...

Just saw this and had to post it
Some of you may know Woot.com. Well, the Sellout Woot today was the "Instant Fisherman portable fishing kit - 2 pack". I got a kick out of this. Might make a good gag gift for that serious fisherman. http://sellout.woot.com/sale/21773" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Discuss... [laugh]

Re: chum fishing in puget sound
I've always wanted to try Chum, but it looks like picking will be slim on the east side of the sound. Obviously I want to stay away from the rivers up where I am (snohomish county). But what about shore fishing into the salt? Any beaches within reach of Everett good? Or would I just be wasting my ti...

Boat & Motors
I have a friend who's selling a boat and 2 motors. I've not actually seen these ones in action. In fact, he doesn't even know I'm putting this up. But hey, he's a friend and I figure if I can get someone something to hook up on more fish it'll be good fish karma for me [thumbsup] Here's his Craigsli...

RE:Dumb question about Steelhead
Yes. The only dumb question is the one you dont ask. There are steelies in most all rivers in King,Pierce,Snohomish, Skagit,Whatcom Counties. All these rivers get Salmon Steel, Bull ( Dolly varden) and Sea run Cutts. If you caught a fish with rainbow markings like a trout most likely its stellhead. ...

Dumb question about Steelhead
Okay, I feel dumb about asking this question. I feel that I should already know this but when it came time to test my knowledge, I wasn't 100% sure. We hit the snoho this morning over by thomas eddy and the first fish I hooked into wasn't a pink. At least, I don't think it was. It looked a bit like ...

Thanks guys. I'll be bringing my gear and take a look when I get there. Just a bit nervous with the kids near the water.

Flow of the Stilli?
We're going to be camping along the south fork of the Stillaguamish river this weekend and I was thinking of bringing my gear for a little fun. But I was wondering how the river is flowing. If it's going to be high, I'd just assume leave my gear at home and heard the kids away from the water. Anyone...

Float Tubes... What makes a good one?
Guys, Well, now that my pontoon is sold, I want to get a float tube. This is what I think I would like: Something that I could backpack into a highland lake Something that's sturdy enough for me (215#s, 6feet) Would like something with a rod holder/place to put an after market one is fine Adequate s...

Sold.
Never thought it would be so tough to sell a full pontoon setup with a motor. The guy who finally took it got a great deal (even paying my full price on Craigs List).

47" Halibut! - 50lbs! (k, the one with me holding up the white side, it was already 1/2 fileted, so much lighter. Thus the proper presentation for a photo)

Pontoon for sale
Hey guys, I'm selling my Pontoon. It's a Classic Accessories Outfitter 100 with a soft seat. In great condition, always stored inside. Great car-topper. Never left on top of my car for more than transport (except one day in the garage). I'm selling it with my electric trolling motor (32lb thrust) an...

Anyone testing the fish?
I wasn't sure this really should go in the Salt forum, but it is about fishing the salt. There's a good point in this article. Not that I'm an alarmist (or any other 'ist' for that matter), but this has been on my mind. After all, I have a wife with a thyroid condition and 4 young kids who love to e...

28.1 Pound Blackmouth caught out of Roche Harbor
Didn't see this here, so I thought I'd share: Before the Roche Harbor Salmon Classic Invitational held this past Friday and Saturday the buzz coming from the San Juan Islands was the winter chinook fishery was all about quality (sheer size of large fish being caught) over quantity, and that surely s...

RE:Poacher X Taunts Idaho Fish and Game via Mail
I was just thinking that Taz. Can they verify the picture date? Probably disgruntled about something and just wasting the Fish and Games resources. Either way, it gonna be a legal issue when he's caught. Not to bright. Let's see. If he printed the picture on a color laser printer, the printer will ...

Poacher X Taunts Idaho Fish and Game via Mail
I'm not a hunter, but I'm very much against poaching. It'd be nice to see this guy get his dues. Read the whole story. BOISE, Idaho — Idaho Fish and Game is seeking help in identifying the person who wrote to the agency bragging about recently poaching a deer. On Nov. 12, the agency received a lette...
