Big Worms

For those of you who live by the Senko, Strike King makes a 7.5" "Perfect Plastic" senko knockoff that is designed for the hawgs. I have a bag of them, watermelon/red flake, and these things are huge. Unweighted, it feels like throwing a 10" golden shiner for bass.

BETTER action.

The Perfect Plastic series is also called The Ocho - it has 8 "sides" on it, shaped like a fat stop sign. When it sinks, the water causes it to roll and wobble as each side rotates. This also causes it to move in a straighter line when being retrieved. I've had bass hit these on a slow retrieve, just like a jerkbait.

I've given Jerry (BassDood) some of these to play with and he's seen them in action. I absolutely LOVE these baits. And they're coffee-scented!

Ok, awesome- look forward to trying it out this weekend. I normally fish the senko weightless, the same w/the Ocho?

Yep, I fish it weightless. I get mine from Tackle Warehouse - Cabelas didn't have them in stock the last time I was there but that might have changed. I haven't seen any of the local stores carry it at all.

Also, Mann's has a hardnose worm that's 9" and has super-sweet action -

Have any of you fella's used these big worms for smallies? I've used a 4inch tail grub down on the columbia, but never thought of using anything bigger than that, but have seen huge nightcrawlers being spit out of some of the fish I have caught.

any body else like the 7.5 inch ribbon tail made by strike king. I love the 3x black and red shad:-$ These worms are very durable and they also float(my favorite feature:cheers: )

I've caught several smallies on the RI Big Units that are 9.5" long. They eat 'em just fine.

In Potholes, all I could catch were smallies on 7.5 junebug culprits. Check out the Hawgs caught on these worms at Culprit.com.

Zoom also makes some nice 10.5" worms. I like them as much as I like the culprits. Junebug is also my favorite color. I think the zoom old monster is very similar to the culprit.
