Northwest Fishing Reports

I saw a thread a little while ago about lake stevens so I suggested my brother go and fish it and he wasn't able to get any bites. What are good times and basic baits for him to use so I can let him know?

i went there for the first time a week ago and did ok on senkos skipped under deep docks. a guy i took out from another forum got a 4lb 7oz pig smallie.

Early morning is best for trout/kokanee. evening is good for bass
Land - fish from the county boat launch docks. Power bait, worms, best if you are up off the bottom.
Boat - troll a wedding ring 15'-60' deep for trout or kokanee, 4" rapala for trout or bass. Fish the docks with whatever is your favorite, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, rubber worms, pignjig all work well.

Were those largies or smallies you were catching under the docks? What size were they?

I only ask because I recently moved near the lake, and have had very little success fishing it for bass. I just need something to keep me motivated to get back out there!

smallies, i got mine on wacky rigged senkos and the big one came on a texas rigged senko. green pumpkin & watermelon, both in 4". look for docks in 15'-20', also look for steep shoreline dropoffs. i found a couple places where it was 15'-25' really close to the shore and was just covered in downed trees. there's some good largies in there too from what i've heard, saw a pic of a 7lb+ from a couple months ago.
