The "american shad" pattern on the LCs are killer. People like the clown/perch x-rap a lot, but I've not had success on it yet.

Believe it or not the hot pick X-Rap is a successful color. For soft jerkbaits I really like the black/silver flake Zoom Flukes, I've had success with both large and smallmouth bass on it. i also love the black top/silver underbelly (called 'silver' on the box) countdown minnows, they are absolutely deadly on smallmouths.

I have had success jirking a non jointed gold rapala. The Largemouth bass love the action of the stop and go method of a floating rapala.

I have had success with Lucky Craft pointers in Tennessee Shad, Aurora Black and Chartruese Blue

You should check out the stocking reports of the lakes you want to fish. I know you are going for bass, but you could see if any fry got planted recently and that way you can really match the hatch. Guaranteed if the lake got 50,000 brown trout fry 2 weeks before, the bass have got to be nailing the browns

not a lot of colors avail, but in the "bargain cave" of Cabelas online, pointers and slender pointers are on sale.

only problem is that every time i cast these gems my heart beats at a rapid pace , mostly from the fear of getting snagged and losing these pricy baits , then i first got these 5 years ago i paid 20 bucks apiece for them .. i got 5 and i refuse to let the bottom have them ..but i will say that no other bait on the market compares to the realistic appearance and that sweet actions it provides .. i just love how they stay suspended so long and slowly drifts back up .. i do think i fished it a lil too fast saturday on beaver .. Lol I caught my first pointer fish this year (I actually had a double hookup with 2x 2.5+ smallies on the same pointer!) but one got off and I pulled in the first one. Right after that I cast my pointer out again and the pointer kepts going and going and going.... the smallies had frayed my line and I didnt think to check the line. That was a $14 dollar fish right there! (but i sorta thought it was worth it at the time cuz of the coolness of the double).
Check out the Megabass Vision 110 and the Jackall squadminnow if you want more money flying out of your wallet!

darn That sucks dude . ..I havent had a double in some time now .. i honestly im now just now bringing out my cranks , jerks, and top water bait for the first time this year .. and this is my first year on a pontoon boat , so two years prior i was walking the banks ..so you already know that all my hard baits never left the house , period ! since there isnt much for good lure shops here im afraid of losing my goodies , because the only way to replace is on line with BPS ... AND WHO LIKES TO WAIT FOR BAIT ..LOL
