I've about given up on this season. I do have some caribou hair that I think I'll try in that pattern. Caribou lands on the water like cottonwood fluff. It's a great material, but fragile.Marc Martyn wrote:Joe-
Good looking fly. If you are anxious to try it out, you had better hurry!

Where you go is less important than how you get there.

Gotta love the elk hair caddis, my all time favorite is the parachute adams. For nymphing the bead headed pheasant tail is my choice followed by the classic hares ear.

All of those are very productive flies and fairly easy to tie.onlywaytofly wrote:Gotta love the elk hair caddis, my all time favorite is the parachute adams. For nymphing the bead headed pheasant tail is my choice followed by the classic hares ear.

RE:Favorite Fly
Nice fly Marc. Looks a lot like the Henry's Lake or Lenard's leach that is popular in Eastern Idaho. A little heavier on the hackle, but pretty much the same design.Marc Martyn wrote:My most effective and favorite fly is a pattern that I came up with called the Wooly Leech. I tie it in black, wine, olive and brown.
I assure everyone here, Marc's fly WILL catch fish.
Too much water, so many fish, too little time.
