Merrill Lake access

Post by onlywaytofly » Thu Nov 15, 2007 4:53 pm

The fly fishing at Merrill lake has been awesome lately. Does anybody know when the access gate is closed?
I want to go back this month and dont want to haul my pontoon boat there and find out the gate is closed.

I went there a few years back and it was closed and I haven't been back.

As I recall it was sometime in November.

Odds are it's closed by now but it's not that far from the gate down to the water.

With a pontoon it shouldn't be more than 2 trips to move all the gear.
Fish doesn't smell "fishy" because it's fish. Fish smells "fishy" when it's rotten.

This is from the description on the lake reports on this site.

http://www.washingtonlakes.com/ReportList.aspx?id=268

"The lake is opened year round but the BLM campground is closed from Oct.-Apr."

Too bad it is fly fishing only. Sounds from the reports to be a good trout lake.

[edit] Oops, sorry I forgot I was on the "Fly Fishing" thread...sure is great that this is a fly only lake!
