Cohos on the Nooksack

Hey guys, I'm thinkin' about hittin' the sack this weekend for some coho since I heard they get a decent run of fish. I'm gonna fish the lower river close to Bellingham. I'm new to the river, so any information would be nice. Thanks

Although the lower river in the Hovander Park area can be productive I would fish HIGH this weekend.... namely because the South Fork of the Nooksack opens up to just below Skookum Cr. hatchery. There are usually a good number of fish to be had the first few weekends up there. I am planning to go probably Sunday, so I will see you out there bud.

yeah south fork gets so loaded with silvers its unreal. Its vedder for me this weekend, then harrison I think next, then ill get around to the south fork.

Hey, I was also thinking about fishing the south fork this weekend for the first time, I was wondering what you would recommend using up there?

Thanks guys!!! this really helps, I'm going to hit the south fork next to the skookum creek hatchery this Saturday.Oh and chet look at the regs, no bait or scents, so fishing for cohos I guess you should use spoons,spinners,jigs (twitching),and drift fishing.

yeah I wish you could use bait sooooo badly. I wanted to float fish eggs there. Ive got my cure ready and everything. guess ill have to save it for the samish and vedder.

Haha yeah, I saw this huge school yesterday and I knew I would catch more than one fish if I was able to dead drift some eggs.
