Best Bet for Thanksgiving Weekend
Looks like the weather will be good Sat/Sun over the long weekend. I am still in learning stage and would welcome ideas for the upcoming weekend. Ideal would be landing some Coho.
Here are some of my thoughts...
Snoqualmie - I live in Snoqualmie and wondering when the Steelhead will be showing up. Since it is almost walking distance is it still to early to even go poke around?
Planter Lakes - Some local lakes are doing well with the planters, but this is not overly appealing to me.
Cowlitz - Seems to be doing well, but one hell of a drive.
Green - Seems to be hit or miss.
Wallace/Sky - Have not seen many good reports and is somewhat of a haul for me.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Best Bet for Thanksgiving Weekend
I'd bet that with the recent blowout of the Snoqualmie, there will be quite a few fish to be had in it this weekend.

Thanksgiving is the unofficial start of winter steelhead season man! Get out there!!G-Man wrote:I'd bet that with the recent blowout of the Snoqualmie, there will be quite a few fish to be had in it this weekend.
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Was going to suggest the Green but at 8,000 cfs and 29 gauge ft it's probably wise to
avoid it.
avoid it.
Re: Best Bet for Thanksgiving Weekend
Brand new guy here from the east coast - in looking at the USGS gauge for the Snoqualmie at Carnation, I see that the gauge height is over forty feet. Does that mean it's the actual depth of the water? It would seem impossible that the river could suddenly drop off that steeply or am I reading it incorrectly? Thanks on clearing this up for me...
Re: Best Bet for Thanksgiving Weekend
all local rivers are beyond blown.....if you find fish they will be swimming down the street....
