where to fish for catfish?

Post by ChuckVH » Sat May 28, 2016 11:59 am

Hello out there. My wife and I are looking for good eating catfish. I was told to go to the Snake River. Can anyone tell me where on the snake? We would like to find a place to fish and camp.I do have a boat and can use it if necessary, and I like to shore fish as well. So, is there someone out there with good advice.
Thanks, Chuck

camp at Lyons Ferry KOA and motor across into the bay that's the mouth of the Palouse River. It is shallow in there so don't smack your prop.

Your choice of bait: I've caught fish on hotdogs, shrimp, chicken livers, pieces of fish and night crawlers. Don't think we used any other stuff.

I agree, the Palouse is a great river for catfish. If you can find them, crickets are the best bait.
