Sturgeon fishing near longview
Fairly new to the area, and have never fished sturgeon here. Was hoping if anyone knew of any good sturgeon holes near the willow grove boat launch in Longview to catch and release?

Its been many years now, but we caught a few in the back channels around the various islands in that area. You can find them pretty much everywhere along the river. Look for deeper holes or seams in the current out of the main flow.
Good luck!

I can’t speak to Longview, but according to Google Maps, you are only 59 minutes from Swan Island, in Portland. This is a sort of large ship dry dock area on the Willamette River. It is an awesome sturgeon fishery. I know it is popular in the winter months (Dec). Can’t say if the Sturg are up in there during the summer.Braidonpeterson wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 10:48 amFairly new to the area, and have never fished sturgeon here. Here are a couple links to get you thinking..

Plenty of parking, great launch, no current/barely. Super mellow. These fish will just launch out of the water while you are sitting there. It’s crazy. I did it last Dec.
FYI... the video likes to start about 17 min. into it. Be sure to watch the beginning for the specifics.
