Went to my favorite secret little creek today to do some searun cutthroat fishing. IT WAS ON FIRE!!! we landed around 25 trout, most 12-16 inches!!!! I caught 3 that we measured over 20 inches, the biggest being 23.5 inches, it was like a 4lb searun cutthroat. These fish were giant today! All caught on bobber and eggs. NONE swallowed the bait, and all were released unharmed. Near the end of the day, my buddy was having a rough day, losing fish and not hooking much. needless to say he made up for it by landing a 7lb chrome bright native steelhead on a 5foot 5 inch ultra light 2-6lb rated trout rod and 6lb test. Great fish, got a great picture, also released unharmed. So 25 trout, 3 giants, and a steelhead in the mix, great fishing day!

Those are real beauties FF! I used to catch them on the Nook Delta on the res.... I lived in Marietta then.... The good old days. [biggrin] Got a lot of Steel and Kings too in the little back waters.

Lol, i am suprised not more people fish this, never seen another fishermen except WAY upriver once, probably because the steelhead are non-existant nowdays, but i like the trout fishing cause i got other steel rivers.
