So this is my first year fishing rivers for salmon, I've had a little luck at the Satsop. My brother and I are heading to Barrier dam on Sat wondering what works best there for bank fishing? Are there any other good areas down there to fish? Any advice would help I'm definately hooked and hoping for a good weekend

Don't hit the barrier is an un fishable blow out right now! Hit the hump man or the satsop again

check the river flow chart before you go. The barrier may be fishable by then.

Thanks for the replies. I will check the flow charts. Talking to a few people have have heard mixed responses on whether or not to hit the cowlitz

I was at Blue Creek thurs and today, and the river is a little high but in great shape. water is actually pretty clear, probably 8 ft visibility. Only saw a couple fish landed at Blue Creek though. My friend and I fished from 10 to 4 and got nada. Guy showed up just up from us around 3 and first cast, blam!... landed an 8lb +/- summer steelhead. Looked pretty bright.
Stopped at Barrier earlier in the day, but didn't care for the scene up there, just my preference. Beautiful weather today.
good luck wherever you go.
