Visiting Seattle 10/14 - Where should I fish?!

I moved from Seattle 2 years ago and am finally heading back for a few days. Traveling on business but will have Friday 10/14 free. Hoping to have one good day on the river, but not sure which river.

Can anyone suggest the best place for guided coho trip? Humptulips? Snohomish? Cowlitz? I'm also open to non-guided. Green, Puyallup, and Carbon were my favs. But since it's one day I want the highest odds of catching my limit.

If Chum are running anywhere I'm open to that, too, but if I recall that's usually later in October to early November.

Unfortunately, very few rivers are open to coho retention at the moment. Nooksack, Samish, and Green river (plus Lake Washington) is about all you get for now. Might change by mid October. Depends on in-season Coho returns.

I am not familiar with guides, so I will let someone else chime in on that...

DH is right about very few coho fisheries being open but fortunately Cowlitz is one of the ones open for hatchery coho retention!
Better yet Cowlitz is full of Coho and Fall chinook right now, according the Tacoma Power- the hatchery recovered over 1,500 coho last week (over 900 adults) and over 700 fall chinook adults as well.
I'm not familiar with guides but I know the Cowlitz has several good ones!
That's what I would do!

Skagit River was just announced by Washington Dept of Fish & Wildlife open for Coho through November 30th. Get in touch with Danny of River Chrome Guide Service. He'll get you your limit!
