can steelhead see UV

i work at the rainbows end in vancouver WA and we tie jigs and we recently switched to all UV matieral and we were told that salmon trout steelhead and just about all fish can see UV does anyone know for a fact if they do or dont and if anyone knows a web site that can prove it?

I personally think they do, but to find out for sure, you'd have to ask a fish.
White is one of my favorite jig colors, and last year I switched from regular bleached feathers to feathers that have been bleached & then treated with a UV brightener. You have to examine them very closely to see the difference. UV-treated feathers have a very subtle purple glow. The number of trout & crappie caught definitely increased -- especially in stained or murky water.
I'm pretty sure that florescent colors like chartreuse have already been "UV enhanced", but I could be wrong.
UV brighteners have been around for a long time and were commonly used on blue jeans at the factory. They were also added to laundry soaps to help prevent fading. (Marketed as "color guard", etc)
Back in the 90s, a whole line of products was introduced for hunters that would mask UV glow.

ya all of the jigs at my ork are UV my boss recently bought all UV matieral but that was recently so there for all the river were blown out when i got a chance fish them so now im gonna hit the rivers hard with our new jigs.

what company do u work for. Steelhead and salmon can see uv because certain uv colors show up
