Post by daniesea » Tue Sep 01, 2009 11:38 am

Hi, I've been hearing about alot of members going down to the Puyllup River to fish for salmon. Where is this place? Any help to a newbie for river is much appreciated.

It is south of seattle runs right through the Fife area. Pull up google and look for I5, HWY 99 and levee road. I5 and the 99 cross over it and run right next to it. levee road runs right along side it.

That should help you:cheers:

just be careful where you park. They are towing cars parked on River Road and in Mama Stortini's parking lot. You must park on the street there. Good luck.

Where is the weigh station and the fruit stand at? I read about the location in reports, but I am unable to locate them by using search engines.

Its Ok Scott. Don't worry about it. I'm sure the people fishing there don't need 50 more people fishing on the bank with them. Afterall, this thread is open for the whole world to see.

If you drive down river road you will see a green fruit stand its fairly good size and this is the area known as the fruit stand, you have to cross a 5 lane hiway to get to the river though. The wiegh station is also on river road but is closer to Puyallup, BE VERY CAREFUL WHERE YOU PARK HERE.

I know you used to be able to park along the dirt road that runs along the river.....can you still park there?

I wrote that becuase I found where it was on google maps between the time I posted the question and the time you posted the response. Thanks again for trying to help though. Thanks to Maurice too. I also have heard that the state patrol is ticketing and having cars towed around the weigh station.

it seems to me like the weigh station, the fruistand, etc are all irrelevant unless you are meeting someone. Get into the river from commencement through Sumner ANYWHERE and you're hooking fish from what i've been reading. there isn't just one hole. the 10 mile long line of elbow to elbow fishermen will tell you that ;)
