so I've heard a couple of members who alter their wedding ring spinners and I would like to share my creation. some prefer to use 6-8 lb test and in theory this sounds good because trout are played in open water and it is not necessary to use heavy line. but I have found that the clevis nicks up your line while trolling and when I catch numerous fish they end up shredding my leader. so I use 12lb fluorocarbon. for hooks I use gamagatsu octopus style #1. I snell the hooks with about and inch and a half between them. a good rule of thumb is to use an inch more of beads than the blade is long. its my opinion that the trout don't want to eat a worm when a blade is hitting the in the nose "guarding" the worm. personally I use really small red beads but I don't think it really matters. as for a blade I use a half dollar sized brass blade because the larger blade has more visibility and I just like brass more than silver.
when trolling I use braided 6# line and let out about 150ft of line. always use ball bearing swivels or your line will become unmanageably twisted. of course put half a night crawler on the hooks.
here is some pics of the monster cutts I catch on these

Bragging may not bring happiness, but no man having caught a large fish goes home through an alley.
