Pine lake king county

I took my daughter there today for lunch expecting to see the place packed like it usually is opening weekend. I was surprised when I only saw 5 or 6 people on the dock and not a single boat in the water. I realize they stocked 10000 trout this year as opposed to the 30k the last few years, but am I missing something else? Has the economy finally caught up to the anglers and no one is buying licenses now? Any one else seeing similar opening weekends?
I wonder how the triploid plant and stocker plant for beaver lake went. Is that lake just as dead? I'm I going to have a hassle free boat launch year? The bass spawn at pine lake all to myself? My mind is racing.

thanks guys. I thought pine lake had always been the third saturday of april, but I guess they pushed it back this year. I did see quite a few stockers rising so should be lots of fun next week. So those people I saw on the dock were poaching! Just kidding, I'm sure they thought the same thing I did.

I think some folks stay away from lakes after a large planting of trout. What I've noticed in similar lakes stocking the same is Rudeness,Overcrowding a spot where you are fishing. People watch you catch and all of a sudden there are a dozen lines where you just were. Some folks are just plain rude and then its" I dont understand English".I really dont want to have to resort to combat fishing just for planted trout.Kinda takes the relaxation away.

That's why I prefer to fish during the week and not so much on weekends. I don't like people seeing where I catch the big fish, or quantaties of fish, like THAT happens very often. :-) Or even where I TRY to catch fish. The is one spot on one lake that I catch big fish now and then. I've never seen another person fish even close to that spot.

Pine lake has changed a lot since they closed the trailer launch and made it hand carry only. Not nearly as crowded on the water. It's a fun lake to fish on Opening Day from a boat. The pier, however, is jammed.

That's kinda depressing to here about those guys fishing a week early. Too bad Mr. Fish and Game Warden didn't show up. But I guess you can't expect much more from a put and take lake...

surprising too considering people living on the lake would know and call it in.
