I was wondering if anyone has fished these lakes? My wife and friends are planning a two night hiking/camping/fishing trip up to the lakes in May and want to know what to expect. I have checked out this website for some good info. http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/olympic/recreat ... dLakes.pdf but nothing really beats a personal experience from someone. I got them lined up with trout gear to try at the lakes just going by what the Washington Fishing bible says. Panther Martins, spinners and a couple jigs. Any information is greatly appreciated.

RE:Mildred Lakes - Question
Sorry, I have not fished these lakes. But what I do when I am planning a trip to a lake I know nothing about is to call the local park ranger for that area. It has been very helpful in the past. They are usually fisherman themselves and can give good advice on the fishing. Also, they can give you a heads up on weather, bear activity, whether fires are aloud. Every time I have called the ranger I have been glad I have.
but.. from my experience with high lakes fishing I have found that a small black rooster tail gets the most attention from the cutts. The only thing better is knowing what hatch is going on.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

The ladies are leaving this next weekend and any personal experiences with Mildred or advice for them would be appreciated.

RE:Mildred Lakes - Question
I know your post is over two years old but I was wondering how it turned out. I hiked up there last summer and spent a few days fishing with my dog. I used Mepps, Panther Martins and a few Blue Fox spinners and had luck with them all. I fished two out of the three lakes and I gotta say it was a great time.
