Crappie Fishing? Glad to be back in the states again.
So I see alot of people on here talking about the crappie fishing on Lake Washington, is there any small lakes in the Pierce county area that is holding some good crappie fishing? They have to be there somebody please help me out. By the way good to be back in the country again, havent talked to you guys in a while but good to be back. I missed the good summer fishing last year so thought I would get my deployment out of the way that way I could be here this summer for some good fishing. Glad to be back.

Glad to have you back! Did you sell your boat?
It is a little cool for crappie. Check Tanwax Lake reports. This year Silver lake in Pierce county will be open. Have to pay but it could be good.

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Lake Tanwax,Lake Kapowsin are a couple that I have fished in the past.Tanwax is really boat access only.I went out last year and could not find a good place to just sit and fish from shore.Thats Tanwax.I use to go to summer camp on Tanwax and remember slaying the crappie and pumpkin seeds.

When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

Glad that you're back and thanks for being in the military. Glad to hear you got a bigger boat for this year, you'll like it I'm sure. What is it? Got any pictures? Like they said Tanwax and Kapowsin are both known for perch and crappie. We've caught perch at both but it's kind of early still. Lake St. Clair used to be good for perch too but it's been awhile since we've been there.

Seriously, spring on the eastside. We were averaging 13" crappie. For about 2 weeks, we would catch 2-6 a night (we fished for between 1-2 hours), smallest ones were a foot, biggest was just inside of 16".

Gisteppo, That is a NICE crappie. I havnt caught a crappie that size in a LONG time. If you dont mind giving up your secret, what time of srping is the best for those guys. Can you catch nice one like that all spring/summer over there?Gisteppo wrote:Seriously, spring on the eastside. We were averaging 13" crappie. They are always in the water, but trolling the shallows in the spring when the water hits their ideal bedding temps is the trick. Over there, try to find a lake with good mudflats that get weedy midsummer, and troll 5' deep water with LONG lines out the back.
