Well Duck is still my worst lake

Post by fish_4_all » Thu Dec 03, 2009 3:04 pm

I got to fish Duck 3 times this last year and have still yet to catch a fish in it. I am gonna have to find someone with a boat or get out in my pontoon boat and fish it hard this next summer to see if I can finaly catch something.

Is there anyone doing any good out there right now? I saw some ice fish caught in October but anything recent?
Does anyone fish this lake in the winter for crappie and such?

Hang in there and hit it more when it warms again.
I don't think they've held one in awhile but Duck use to host a few bass tournaments.

Might try chatting with coastfishin,he's here often.
Best of luck out there

Caught a limit of trout yesterday in about three hrs. Report should be up soon.
I have caught fish consistently on this lake all year round.

Fishing Duck Lake has gotten more difficult since they started the weed control program a few years ago. Alot of the hidding places for the small fish are gone now. The trout fishing has been pretty good, but the crappie and perch fishing has really declined. I've noticed several people keeping crappie that are smaller than the minimum size for the lake. It's hard to say how much of an impact that has had on the fishing but it cant be helping. Hopefully it will get better this year.
