With this latest wind event that the West side experienced, most of the lakes have been turned over multiple times and are now pretty much one temp from top to bottom. The good thing about this is that the entire water column is now saturated with oxygen and nutirents, a major bonus to crayfish. Now all we need is a little bit of sun and presto, there will be plenty of food for our newly hatched and various bait fish. What is impressive is that even Lake Washington has about a degree of difference between the surface and the bottom at 150+ feet.
What does this mean to those of us who are looking to do some fishing? It means that finding fish will be a bit tougher in the following weeks as any order in the lakes has now been disrupted. I'd expect the Northern end of most lakes will be where the action is for the next couple of days. Now is a great time to get out on your favorite lake with your electronics to find out to where the fish retreat during and immediately after a storm. This will pay you dividends in the future, guaranteed.
