My next spinning reels are looking to be Shimano's and Pluegers....same with my next levelwinds or baitcasters= Shimano and maybe Pluegers...

Abu Garcia's aren't making very nice spinning reels anymore, Daiwa's aren't bad, but Okumas are bad...

Can't go wrong with Penn's either..

My next one will be an InCyte as I want to see if it's as good as it looks.

That was another reel I was looking into before I bought the President. I had heard good things about both and they were same price. Joe's didn't have it so I got the Pflueger.
I went to the fishing shops on line and compared the reviews.
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

I bought a Quantum energy Ci spinning reel last spring and its unreal. Titanium bail wire and magnetic bail are sweet and super smooth. About 90.00 so a little pricey. Bought and returned a Pflueger President because after a week the bearings started to feel "crunchy" on retrieves. Also, on hook sets, the bail would pop open and I kept losing fish...

As far as Shimano, they are all good reels. I have a Sahara 2500 that has never failed in salt and fresh H20..

I bought a President earlier this year and absolutely love it. From May 'til late July I fished with it nearly every day w/ only a single complaint- The bail will close every now and again prior to actually casting. I think it is more of a personal issue of just not ensuring I heard the audible "click." For the money it is very smooth and reliable. I am buying two more setups (an ultralight and heavy-duty) here in the next week or so and I am definitely considering another President.

Hex- Where'd you find the Quantum Energy for $90? I keep eyeballing that one...

Those Pluegers are nice but the drags are iffy on them...

I tend to use reels hard (Don't clean or lube em really, except for a shot of WD 40 here and there) for 2 or 3 maybe 4 years (if they last) and then I dump em, and repurchase new ones...I'm just not sure the Pluegers will hold up for me. I'll have to buy one though for personal experience....
